I just said that...

On the way home from school John David asked Sammy about his friends in Africa. Sammy said that he doesn't have any friends in Africa. Then John David asked about his house...and Sammy said "I don't have a house, because I live with you." John David then questioned to him as to what happened, and Sammy said "I just said that." His older brother needed more clarity, and asked so you made it up, and the middle brother replied "yeah, of course." I know all of you are sad to hear that there will be no more stories about Sammy and all of his friends in Africa. I am sure he will come up with something else for me to blog about.

I have astronaut friends

This morning I took Sammy and John David to the dentist. On the way there, John David started saying that he knew there were different countries, but we all lived on earth and only astronauts can live in space. Sammy then said he had some friends that were astronauts that lived in Africa with his other friends. I asked him if they lived in space, and he said no.
John David then started laughing and said that he was making it all up because astronauts don't live in Africa. I told him that astronauts are not in space all the time, and that they could live in Africa. He then said that Sammy doesn't have any friends, and he pretends. I told him it was okay for him to pretend. Just like sometimes he says something and then says "I tricked you." Curious to hear Sammy's answer I then asked him to name some of his friends. He said John David was his friend...and John David got a big chuckle and said "no, I am your brother." I told John David that he could be his brother and friend. Sammy then said Ethan was friend. Once again John David chuckled and said "no, he is your cousin." I reminded John David that his cousin could be his friend too.
It looks like Sammy's friends are back for another round.

I can ask my friend

I forgot to mention Sammy's reaction to the car ride without a carseat. He did not mention anything about the carseat. His only comment was that he could ask his friend how to fix the Tahoe. Apparently Sammy's friends are very handy.

I will ask my friend what to do

This was Sammy's clever remark at 6 in the morning last wednesday. John David woke up coughing, and I told him we would take him to the doctor. Of course, his first question was if he was going to get any shots. I told him I did not know. That is when Sammy said that John David didn't have to go to the doctor, because he could ask his friend what to do. Needless to say we took John David to the doctor that afternoon. We got our favorite answer...virus, so you have to let it run its course.
